InnoCité MTL is Canada’s pioneering accelerator dedicated to smart city startups—initiated under Montreal’s ambitious smart and digital action plan in 2015. By supporting ventures that address urban challenges, we’ve become a hub for meaningful innovation designed for real-world impact.

Our Journey and Impact

Founded in 2015, InnoCité MTL is the first smart city accelerator in Canada, launched as part of Montreal’s digital transformation initiative.

By 2017, we had entered our fourth cohort, welcoming startups focused on areas like urban mobility, shared spaces, smart energy, and AI-driven locale insights.

In 2018, we merged with Centech, École de Technologie Supérieure’s renowned tech incubator. This led to the establishment of a smart city innovation cell, strengthening the support ecosystem for urban tech entrepreneurs.
